Happy Monday everybody! It is a beautiful sunny day in Northwest Ohio at work today, which is totally making this day better since it’s not so dreary outside. I hope you all had a great weekend– I know I did! I am currently at my desk looking outside wishing it was about 20° warmer and I was outside tanning, wishful thinking. This weather though is getting me SO EXCITED for spring and summer! So this weekend Ben and I traveled to Port Clinton for the Burning of the Snowman festival with a bunch of our friends. But before that, we just relaxed Friday night at home and Ben grilled us some steaks and of course I had to share with Hershey & Luna– they were happy pooches.
Now I don’t have a picture of the actual snowman they burn because it was freezing outside and I made the mistake of wearing heels to walk on the beach– not my brightest idea. So I did not venture out to take a pic but this one below is from last years fest.
They actually didn’t even burn the snowman this year until almost 1am because of how windy it was, so we didn’t stick around to watch it. Maybe we will catch it next year. Anyways, we started off our day at Slater’s pub in downtown Port Clinton. It was some damn good food and an even better time with friends. I got the Overachiever Burger and it was a cheeseburger topped with bacon and onion straws and let me tell ya, SO YUMMY! I would definitely recommend stopping here if you ever venture through Port Clinton or stop for the night. We then took the shuttle bus over to the beach and the docks to really get the party started. There, they had a huge tent with drinks and a live band. The band played some really good cover songs, including my fave Johnny Cash. Here is a picture of me and 2 of what I consider my greatest friends.
We hung out there for a couple hours until we were throughly disappointed that they weren’t going to burn the snowman at 7pm, so we left and went to the local VFW (which is like the legion for those of you who don’t know what the V is). We all made friends with the local bartender Bethann and she was slingin’ some good drinks that night.
And of course, I had to get a picture with our good friend Ron who is like a second dad to me. He is always looking out for me when we go out and you can’t help but to love him– he’s the sweetest!
We ended the night back at the hotel hanging out with everybody in our room and having a nightcap. Just relaxing and catching up with everybody was nice. We woke up early Sunday morning to head back home as Ben and I had a meeting to attend to. After that, we went home, ordered pizza, and watched Sons of Anarchy (we are on season 5 already!). I took 2 naps (oops, haha!) and just relaxed all day. Also, I thought I would share with you this picture of Ben & I from the casino trip last weekend because TBH, it’s seriously such a good picture and I haven’t posted one of us in awhile (plus my hubby is h-o-t 😉 ).
Overall, it was a fantastic weekend but I was happy to get home to the dogs yesterday and recoup from the long day we had Saturday. Tonight, we are grabbing dinner at our favorite Gus n Gomers with some friends then headed on home.
I hope you all enjoyed your weekend as much as I did! I’ll be back at ya with a new post tomorrow so subscribe to get my blog emailed straight to ya as soon as it’s posted so you don’t miss out! Have a great rest of your Monday loves!
